The Dimalo Folding Crutch

Do you need crutches when you're away from home, but don't want to strap your old wooden crutches to your suitcase?
Here is the answer: a lightweight aluminum forearm crutch which folds in 3 pieces, to a collapsed length of 53.5cm or 21.5 inches. The length between the hand grip and the cuff is 24.5cm or 9.5 inches.

An internal elastic cord ensures you won't lose any of the three separate parts, and will prevent mix-ups in assembly. The length is adjustable from 100 to 123cm by a simple wingnut and bolt assembly. With each crutch ordered, we also provide a strap in front of the elbow cuff using nylon straps and 2 snap fasteners.

The sleek design of the Dimalo crutch makes it a stylish and easy to carry item.
The use and provision of the neoprene handgrips and removable nylon straps are add-on features for your convenience. The Dimalo crutch also sports custom tips. We can provide these tip replacements (which are slightly smaller than most North American crutch tips) for $19/pair (tentative price). The neoprene handle cover replacements come in 3 or 5mm thickness, colored black or beige at $18/pair (tentative price).

As you can see, the Dimalo crutch can easily fold up to almost half its original size, very quickly and very easily.
The size at which the crutch can fold into makes it easy, fast and convenient to carry in a hand-carry case for easy transportation and travel. For trips, this is by far the best solution for your needs.

Dimalo Tips and Tricks

In order to set the over-all length to suit you, remove the bottom screw and place the bolt in the desired hole and fasten the wing nut tightly. Should this nut come loose by accident, apply a few drops of Loctite to the threads. If your height is 5'3" or shorter, the crutches need to be shortened, either by cutting off a portion of the top tube or drilling extra adjustment holes. We can do this for you, if you provide us with your height at the time of placing the order. Should you decide to do this procedure on your own, be careful not to damage the elastic shock cord inside the tube, nor leave any sharp edges, since that will certainly cause problems. If after doing this procedure, the internal cord is too loose, remove the tip and tie a new knot and cut off the excess elastic. Re-apply the tip by spraying some alcohol or water inside to allow it to slip on easier. Ensure that the internal plastic cap is inserted in the tube first!
