The attachable Ice Gripper Tip

The icegripper tip is specifically designed to fit right on Kowsky tips. They can easily be added to fit on top of the Kowsky tips for that extra bit of traction needed on icy surfaces. The tip is made from urethane rubber and adds 1cm in height on top of the Kowsky tip. Available in grey only.

The Ice Gripper features 6 stainless steel prongs protruding from the base of the tip to increase traction by digging into the ice. Because of this design, it is not suitable for indoor use. The Ice Gripper can be easily removed from the Kowsky tip and convienent to store when indoors.
The red arrows indicate the force being applied to the crutch. The blue arrow on the ground illustrates the opposing force due to friction and the tip's grip applied the other direction to prevent the crutch from sliding. With the added spikes of the ice gripper, friction is greatly increased. The spikes are able to "dig in" to the ice, providing excellent traction over a standard crutch tip.
